Housed in the Sachs Family Educational Center, the Stanley H. Kaplan Nursery School‘s goal is to create an early-learning community where a young child’s social and emotional growth and intellectual development can flourish. Our curriculum reflects the developmental level and needs of each age group, and values the uniqueness of each child.

Within the context of play, our balanced program includes both structured and open-ended activities enabling children to build the skills and self-assurance needed to become confident, joyful and life-long learners. Through relationship-building and through interaction with a variety of stimulating materials, children are encouraged to ask questions and become active problem solvers.

One of our guiding principles is that children learn best when they feel respected and nurtured. We are committed to sharing the values of Judaism by integrating the celebration of Shabbat and Jewish holidays into an age-appropriate program. We also encourage the participation of family members in the nursery school experience, and believe that the strong ties forged between home and school will provide the foundation for a lasting bond with the Sutton Place Synagogue family.
